Real-time AI enhancement
Built-in AI models enhance each frame as the video plays. There is no need to convert or export the entire video first. AUTO switches between Fast and Quality for the current workload, while compatible models offer Optimal, 2×, and native 4× output.

Feature 02
Finishing FX
Adjust sharpening, debanding, grain, brightness, and gamma in real time alongside AI enhancement. Each effect can be toggled individually, and FX can be applied before or after upscaling. Model noise suppression reduces granular residuals in flat areas while protecting edges.

Feature 03
Subtitles and audio tracks
Switch supported embedded text subtitles and audio tracks without leaving playback. Choose the subtitle font, size from 14–48 pt, background, outline, or shadow style, background transparency, and an optional short transition.

Feature 04
Aspect ratio and full screen
Adapt the picture to the video or display. Choose Automatic, Fit, Fill, or a fixed 16:9, 4:3, 1:1, or 21:9 ratio. Video-only full screen hides the surrounding interface and shows an OSD with the filename and picture mode, plus controls when needed.

Feature 05
Playlist
Add several videos or an entire folder, then choose what to play from the playlist on the right. Folders are scanned recursively, while hidden files and packages are skipped. Entries are deduplicated, naturally sorted, and the next video starts automatically.

Feature 06
Playback history
MetalVideo keeps up to 50 recent videos on your Mac. It records playback position along with selected audio and subtitle tracks, and shows watch progress in the history. Open an entry to continue where you left off. Entries can be removed individually or all at once.

Feature 07
Frame capture
Save the displayed frame as a PNG at source, screen, or enhanced-output dimensions. Choose whether to include subtitles, the on-screen display, and comparison guides.

Playback rate and seek previews
Choose 0.75×, 1×, 1.2×, 1.5×, or 2× playback. Pitch stays natural and every frame is still enhanced. Hover the seek bar to preview the destination frame and time before moving there.
