Privacy policy

Data we do not collect or transmit

MetalArchiver does not transmit or collect personal information, usage analytics, advertising identifiers, location, contacts, browsing history, file contents, file names, or AES passwords. It has no analytics or advertising SDK, proprietary account, or proprietary cloud service.

Files and passwords

File access is limited to locations you select through system panels or drag and drop. It is used to read, save, and extract archives and to check modification dates and available space.

AES passwords are used only for the requested operation and current archive. They are not stored on disk, in app preferences, Keychain, or logs, and are released from memory when the archive or window closes.

Information stored on your Mac

• App preferences such as display language
• macOS security-scoped bookmarks for folders you authorize
• A troubleshooting log with operation phases, elapsed times, process IDs, and archive display names

The log remains in the app container, is never uploaded automatically, and can be deleted by you. Support receives it only if you explicitly attach it.

Pro purchase and restoration

MetalArchiver uses Apple StoreKit. Apple processes payment information; MetalArchiver and BridgeDevs do not receive card details. The app checks the entitlement state supplied by Apple.

Third-party code

RapidGzip and zlib-ng are included for compression. Both run locally and do not collect or transmit user data. License texts are available in Settings.

Contact us at support@bridgedevs.com. Information you send is used to answer your request and investigate the issue. Do not send ZIP files, AES passwords, or unnecessary personal information, and review logs and screenshots first.

If app features or data handling change, this page and its last-updated date will be revised.

Inspecting and deleting the operation log

Use Details, Copy, or Show Log in an error message to inspect troubleshooting information. The operation log is stored at:

Open the parent folder using Finder’s Go → Go to Folder. The log is not uploaded automatically and you can delete it. It includes archive display names, so review it before sharing.
