Overview

MoniBridge handles brightness control, idle-time detection, display information, and saved settings on your Mac. It does not automatically send usage activity or display information to BridgeDevs servers.

Activity detection

To restore brightness after automatic dimming, MoniBridge detects mouse movement, dragging, clicks, scrolling, key activity, and modifier-key changes. This is used to determine when activity occurred. The app does not record or transmit typed characters, click locations, or viewed content.

Display information and settings

The configuration file stores connected-display identifiers and names, selection state, per-display Master minimum and maximum values, full gamma settings, everyday brightness, dimming steps, shortcuts, and related preferences. It is normally stored at ~/Library/Application Support/MoniBridge/config.json and remains under your control on the Mac.

Pausing during media playback

When Pause During Media Playback is enabled, MoniBridge checks display-sleep prevention state managed by macOS. It does not access, record, or transmit video, audio, or the contents of media files.

Diagnostic logs

Diagnostics run only after you choose Start diagnosis. Display information, brightness settings, communication results, and related details are saved beside the configuration file, and capture stops after five minutes or 5 MB. Logs are never sent automatically. Review a log before choosing what to share with support.

Support requests

When you contact us by email, we use the information you provide—including your email address, message, screenshots, and diagnostic logs—to respond and investigate the issue. Information is deleted when it is no longer needed.
